Right click on cmd in start menu and select ‘Run as Administrator’
Type: net stop wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: ren c:windowsSoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
Hit Enter
Type: net start wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: exit
Hit Enter
Attempt to download updates
